How Does an Air to Water Heat Pump Work?

An air-to-water heat pump works by extracting heat from the air, which is then transferred to a refrigerant fluid in the system.         This fluid is then compressed, which elevates its temperature and releases the heat into a heat exchanger.         From there, the heat is transferred to a water-based heating system that distributes it through radiators, underfloor heating pipes, or fan coils to provide warmth in the building.        In addition to providing warmth in the building,air-to-water heat pumps also can cool a whole house, and offer domestic hot water.
