The working principle of heat pump water heaters

  • The fan draws air onto fins called evaporators.

  • The hot vapor then flows through a heat exchanger, which heats the water and cools the refrigerant.

  • Once the vapour refrigerant has given all its heat, it is then transformed into its liquid state and cycled up to start again at the evaporator.
